paradox: Not everything fits in a box

When will websites (or people) learn that not everything fits in a box. Consider this, to do anything here be it forums or support one needs to register and log in. Seems normal to you, so far? Good but what happens if you can’t login? Ask for a new password, you say? Well what happens if that doesn’t work either? Consider my story. I tried to login and it said my pwd or email was wrong. OK so I asked for a new one. I received the reset email and did so. I could still not get in. One choice, asking for security reason verification, was not do-able since the above could not work. So I tried to register again (since my original registration was not directly from here I thought this may work. But it would not allow me since that email address was already in use. And yet trying the new password and that same email did not work. So in order for me to get here and pose my question I had to totally create a completely different and new account–not that I need 2 but had no choice. In other words WordPress and all other sites should allow people to ask questions outside of the box of having to be a member or at the very least, ask a question as a member without having to sign in (since signing may not always be possible). Should tech support be reading this please know that I am actually pintree3 and not the name given here.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

AH here goes–adding to the above and how things don’t always fit in a box. After having submitted my above comment I can read below that it says, “The blog I need help with is cantblackyou.wordpress.com.” Who told it that? Why did it assume such a thing? No, that is not the blog I need help with nor actually linked with anything to do with the blog or any blog.

    pintree3.wordpress.com doesn’t exist

The address pintree3.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Sorry, that site is reserved! But you can sign up and choose another one.

    Are you pintree3?

What is your mother-tongue? What is your first language / the language of the site you are asking about?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, I am pintree3. My mother tongue is English as well as my 1st language as well as all else. Why can’t ‘pintree3.wordpress.com’ be registered since it doesn’t exist? I know where the problem may have initiated (for one, do not allow a password reset to an email you do not have registered) but we’ll get to that later in detail. if needed
