paragraph formatting
-
Hi everybody. I’m very new to blogging and wordpress, but I’m NOT new to computers. I’m having a huge problem adapting to typing with the limited formatting tools. No standard font types or font sizes. Also, when I hit enter to start a new line, it’s hardly ever recognized when I preview, especially when inserted images are involved. Is there a way to get Word-like options when typing?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
This could be useful:Formatting text pt. 1: blank lines, alignment, wrap-around, two columns

The easiest way to get Word-like options without screwing up your blog like Word would do is to use an offline blog editor like Windows Live Writer or Blogdesk. They’re free.

I agree with raincoaster. Here are the links for free downloads:

Help with blogging in WordI don’t know the pro’s and cons though. I will test it thoroughly as soon as I have the time.

Do not use word. It is useless anyway since wordpress will just strip it all out anyway. Word, no matter what they say, does not speak web.
@thespop, when in the visual editor, select all the text in the text area, images included if there are any, and then go to the pulldown at the left side of the lower tool bar and select “paragraph.” That should straighten out all the formatting for you.
Also, go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click save. That should help to keep formatting issues at bay.
