Paragraph spacing

  I want a single line space between paragraphs but they’re not showing up. I hit the “return” key at the end of each paragraph, and I thought WP would add a line by default. But it doesn’t.
  I have tried doing “shift/return” instead of just “return” as I saw advised here, but that isn’t working for me either.

  Hi Kate!

  Some themes create larger line break than others. I did take a look at your site and I do see a space between paragraphs. This leads me to believe that you figured out how to add these, or you changed your theme. Please let me know if you’re happy now, or if I can help further!

  Actually, it comes and it goes. I saw that I fixed it, I guess with the “shift/return” trick, but I had missed one so I went back in to fix it. Now none of them are there.

  Hi Kate,

  I’m going to teach you a little HTML code, so your formatting doesn’t disappear on you.

  Please open your home page (Words In Progress) in your editor:

  Click the Text tab, which is next to the Visual tab above your content editor.

  You will see the way your page looks in HTML code. At the end of each paragraph, there is a code: </div> — next to it, I want you to paste: <br>

  You will notice that I added the first couple line break codes for you, so you’ll know where it needs to be done in the rest of your text.

  Once you’ve adjusted your paragraphs accordingly, click Update to save your changes.

  Thanks – I tried it and it didn’t quite work.
  This is happening on a static page. The regular post pages don’t have this problem. I don’t know why this should matter.

  I see that you’ve adjusted your main page. I do see spacing between paragraphs now. If you need additional spaces, remember you can add the
  code to the end of your sentences in the Text tab.
