Paragraph spacing in Chateau themed blog

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m a newbie blogger having a difficult time editing paragraph spacing on my first post which I’ve scheduled to go live in a few days’ time.

When editing the text, the spacing is displayed correctly with paragraph breaks where they should be but once I’ve updated and go to view the post, the text appears without the paragraph breaks.

    Please help.

Don’t copy and paste. It’s the source of all these kinds of problems.

Go to the post, Click to Edit it, and then on the Text editor, remove all the tags at the start and end of each paragraph, every single last one of them. That should set the spacing back to normal. If not, strip out ALL the contents, paste into the Text editor, and update.

Also, go to Settings->Writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML” and save that setting. It will prevent similar problems in future.

If you want to make things single spaced, hold down the Shift key when you hit Enter.

Oops, I did copy and paste so that must have been the source of my problem too. I’ve now removed all the tags at the start and end of each paragraph and it has worked! The post is now displayed exactly as I wanted it :)

    Many thanks.

    Great, glad to hear it.

Copy and paste using the T button in the visual editor also works. It’s a pain to re-format things, but it’s necessary if you want to avoid these kinds of issues.

You’ve really been a great help. My editing experience will certainly not be the same again.

    Thank you!
