Paragraphs

Is there any way, trick, tip, ANYTHING to not lose line breaks and paragraphs in the editor??? Drafts are nearly impossible to work with. What am I doing wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Joyce,
Really sorry you’re having trouble with formatting. To clarify, when you open a post in the New Editor, is it combining all of your text into one giant paragraph or is it just pulling out inline HTML elements that you’ve manually put in?
-
One giant paragraph. And I have had instances where I’ve gone back to edit a previously published post, and then when I’ve finished and signed out and looked at that post on my site, it has been published as one giant paragraph.

I really can’t work with this new editor. As I said before, every time I log out and then log back in to work on a draft, all of my paragraphs are missing. It’s one giant paragraph. It is tedious and infuriating to have to repeatedly break the same draft into paragraphs. I have enjoyed the ease of WP for years but now it might be time for me to move my blog somewhere else, because this is unacceptable.

I definitely understand Joyce. Reformatting posts each time you open them is pretty unbearable. It seems to be happening to you each time you open a post, which is something I’m not experiencing. The faster I can nail down how/why this is happening, the faster I can help get it fixed. Here are the steps I tried:
1. Create a post in the classic editor with paragraph breaks
2. Save that draft
3. Log out of WordPress.com
4. Log back into WordPress.com
5. Open the same post in the New Editor.
On my side, all of the paragraph breaks are maintained. Are those the same steps you’re following when you receive the error?

I no longer see any option to work in the classic editor. Where is it? How do I access it?

Hi,
We removed the link from the New Editor that takes you back to the Classic Editor. However, if you would like to use the Classic Editor, you can do so from the following link:
http://joycemillman.wordpress.com/wp-admin
Then, hover over “Posts” on the left-hand side and either click “Add New” or “All Posts” from there, you can edit or add posts in the Classic Editor.
I would love your help debugging that issue though! If you could let me know some general steps you went through when you experienced the issue, I can look a bit further!

Thanks for pointing me to the classic editor via the admin page.
The steps I followed when I was having the issue – working on a Macbook.
1. Log in via the WP Log In page, then clicked on the “My Site” tab.
2. From the left hand menu that opened up on the My Site page, I was selecting “Posts”, and then from the post page, I chose “Drafts” and then “Edit” on the bottom of the excerpt page for the particular one I was working on.
3.This took me to my draft in the new editor, and the draft was always one giant paragraph.
I’m going to work via the classic editor now, but I hope you will make the classic editor option more visible, or at least de-bug the new one.

Thanks so much for providing those steps! We’re trying to debug the new editor as much as possible. I’ll see if I can reproduce this and figure out why this might be happening!
