Parallax Image
-
Hi! I’m hoping you can help me insert custom CSS for a responsive parallax image that will bleed to the edges to match the header and slider for my site. Any ideas for this? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Where are you wanting to put that image?
I’ve not tried this, but there is some CSS I came across some time ago to do such a thing, but since we cannot edit the theme html, the theme would have to be structured in such a way that we could adapt the code to work with the theme you are using. I won’t know if it is worth pursuing until I know where you want to put the image.

Basically we’d want the parallax or hero image to span the entire width of the page and be positioned just above the footer section and below the 3 “about” subsections with the Fishing Hardcore icons.

Hmmm, I’m afraid that can’t be done, or at least I can’t think of a way to do that since there isn’t a div within the html between the homepage widget area and the footer widget area for us to put the image into. I did try extending the homepage widget area and adding an image below the widgets, but that goes awry very quickly when you resize the browser window or view on a smaller screen. With that though, even if it would work, I can’t see a way to do the parallax effect. It would take modifications to the HTML structure of the page, and we cannot do that on the Premium plan. It would be possible on the WordPress.com Business plan, but it is an pretty substantial task.
