Pardon my Stupidity!
-
Hi,
I’m not sure I’m speaking the right language for what I want, which is to embed my WordPress blog into my website.
First, can it be done?
Second, if it can be done where and what do I look for?
Third, I do know basic HTML so I’m not totally stupid about this stuff. I’ve just never done this before.
Last, it has to be free!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First, we can’t answer any questions without a link to your blog, starting with http. If you don’t have a blog already, you probably want to get the software from WordPress.ORG instead and install it right into your website.
-
-
Make a html frame and in the part where you put the address put your wordpress blog. Look up embedded frames if you don’t know already.
-
Using iframes to embed a wordpress.COM blog in another website have been problematic in the past. Why not just display an RSS feed of the blog in a page on the website? Here are a couple links that talk about how to do that.

Duplicating material, even if it’s your own, will hurt you with search engine rankings. It’s probably a better idea from that perspective to simply LINK to the WordPress.com blog as if it were a regular page of your website.
-
Frames don’t duplicate the material, merely show a webpage INSIDE a webpage.
But if they’re problematic…
-
The search engines don’t care if it is in a frame or not. As far as they are concerned, it is duplicate content.
You can give an iframe a try, just don’t try to edit your blog from within the iframe as that is absolutely a sure way to have issues.

If you want to use wordpress.com blog (the link you have supplied) as the companion blog of your website then you should add a link. Else if you want wordpress.com blog to work as your website then i think the domain mapping feature would be the best.
