    Hi there,

Are you by chance referring to parent elements for pages? Currently, you cannot assign posts to a parent element. However, when you’re creating new pages, you can assign them to a parent page as explained here:

    Page Attributes

If you’re looking to include posts as sub-elements in a custom menu, that can be achieved by adding them as custom links as explained here:

    Menus

Please let me know if I misunderstood your request!

I changed from the basic theme, as far as I know, to the Nishita theme on my blog. http://www.darlingcollections.com
In the basic theme I was able to have my Home, About, and subject “buttons” then have the “child pages” under them. For example I have Furniture as the parent page then several different projects listed when I hover over the Furniture “button”. Now I have the parent page Paisley and Stella but when I make a new post the option on the right hand side to put it under a parent isnt there. All I want to do is have the posts be specific to the parent/subject in my menu…

    Hi!

It looks like you did switch to the Nishita theme. I think there might be a bit of confusion between posts and pages. “Parent” elements like you mention under the “Furniture” menu item are only available to pages, not posts. When you’re creating a post, you cannot assign it as a child underneath a parent page. It looks like the majority of your recent activity is on posts. For posts, the parent elements are replaced by categories. Does that make sense?

The easiest way to get your new posts setup under a particular subject in your menu would be to use Custom Links:

    Menus

Basically, in this variation, you would manually need to add the posts once they are created. Just follow the instructions above and enter the post URL and menu item title. Then, drag and drop the menu item where you would like it on the menu.

Can you give that a try?
