Parent Pages & Posts

How do I create a parent pages for posts?

I understand that I can create a static page for posts, but I would like for specific posts to be posted under specific pages, as well as the home page. For example: I have pages called Life, Wellness, Recipes, etc. How do I make it so that any post I write about life appears on the life page, any post I write about wellness appears on the wellness page, and any post I write about recipes appears on the recipe page? And then how do I make it so ALL post still appear on the home page when readers first get to the site? I am not looking to create subpages with categories. I want to create parent pages for my posts. Is all this possible?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I believe you mean a Category, not parent page.

You may add categories to your site right on the post you are writing/editing, or through Posts > Categories.

Write the post and put it in the category you wish it to appear.

If you would like to add categories to the menu, go to Appearance > Menu and create/edit your primary menu to add the categories you wish to the menu. When a visitor clicks the category name on the navigation menu, they will be shown the category pageview displaying all the posts in that category as if it were a Page.

If you wish, and your Theme has this feature, add descriptions to your category in the Posts > Category screen. These will appear at the top of the Category Pageview, explaining what the posts are in this category and possibly linking to related information on your site they might find helpful.

This is an example of how that works.

Your front page would look like however you wish it to look. It has nothing to do with the above actions.

Good luck with your site and thanks.
