Parked Domain

  Good morning, We signed up with wordpress and bought this domain ‘pharmafusion.org’, only deciding later to get a refund and stop with the project. However, for a different project we have decided to use this domain again but it is parked. Is it possible to make it available again?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi pharmafusion,

  As the domain was cancelled so soon after registration, it should be released in around 5 days.

  The other option is I can try to restore the domain. Do you want to use in on another WordPress.com site, or transfer it somewhere else? Newly registered domains can only be transferred after 60 days but in the meantime, the name servers can be updated to point to a site hosted elsewhere.

  Please let me know which option you would prefer.

  Hi,

  We would like to be able to use it somewhere else and self host the site using wordpress.org. We used arvixe.com as a hosting company.

  Okay, in that case the two options are:

  1. Wait for the domain to be released (around 5 days) and re-register it through Arvixe or another registrar.

  2. I can restore the domain and it can be transferred it to Arvixe after 60 days — you have already been refunded so I would need to send a payment request for the domain costs.

  You can keep the domain with us and point the name servers to your new WordPress.org site instead, but transferring would be the better option if you want to manage both the domain and hosting from one place.
