    Hello,

I trying to link my domain name to a website I created. I recently transferred my domain name to wordPress (Automattic INC) from go daddy when I try to change my url or domain name from the temporary address it will not allow me to do so. When I look up the domain name it says its parked by WordPress.com. I use bluehost which is connected to my WordPress.org. The domain name is Thelifestylepod.com

The issue is with your A record as the IP address is still not pointing towards bluehost.

Could you please contact your Name Server provider and ask them to point the IP to bluehost?

    Hello,

I am having troubles pointing an IP address to bluehost. I transferred my domain name from goDaddy to WordPress (Automattic Inc) and cannot not find the domain name in account to make this happen.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi there,

The domain, thelifestylepod.com was associated with at WordPress.com site which has been deleted parking the domain. The domain was also refunded.

If you’d like to use the domain with another hosting such as Bluehost we’ll need to restore the deleted site or a new one must be created. Once the site is restored we’ll collect payment for the domain and restore it to your site allowing it to be used outside of WordPress.com.

If you’d like to proceed with the restoration of the site and restoring the domain let us know.

Thank you for getting back with me. Let’s take the necessary steps to restore the domain.

  • Hi there,

I’ve sent you a link via email to pay for the domain’s registration again.

Please also confirm if we should restore your deleted site, thelifestylepod.wordpress.com, or if you’re going to create a new WordPress.com site to which we can connect the domain – the domain has to be connected to a WordPress.com for you to be able to access its settings, but it doesn’t have to actually show that site.

Once we receive your payment and you confirm about the WordPress.com site, I can reactivate the domain for you.

I made the payment to restore the domain name. I created a bluehost website using WordPress.org can I have the domain name point to bluehost

  • Howdy –

Ok, the domain has been restored and is back in working order. You can certainly point it to another provider. Do you know the specific name server records for BlueHost? You’ll need to contact them for those details.

Here are the instructions to edit the name servers on the domain:

Thank you, I have the name of the servers but when I try to change to bluehost WordPress will not allow it.

    ns1.bluehost.com 162.159.24.80
    ns2.bluehost.com 162.159.25.175

  • I think you maybe just tried too quickly after the domain was restored.

I’ve tried updating the name servers again, and it looks like it saved this time. But note it can take up to 72 hours for this change to update across the web, and your domain might sometimes show the WordPress.com site, and sometimes the Bluehost site until this process completes.
