Parse Error: Unexpected }

    I copied and pasted a function into my function.php editor (bad idea). I was attempting to follow a tutorial on customizing the Jetpack ‘Related Posts’ plugin, but received this error:
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ … on line 281

    I deleted the function, but still received the error despite there being an equal number of { and }. I opened up the .zip of my downloaded blog theme and directly copied and pasted the original function.php file but am still receiving the error.

    Any ideas?
