Part Public, Part Private

Is there a way to divide my blog into two: part public material/posts, part private stuff? Thank you.

Not really. You can create password protected posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#password-protect-a-post
You can also create a private blog just for Staff.
