Partial article only on home page
-
Hello!
Currently on my homepage (hosted blog.wordpress.com) articles show up in full. I remember I setup the blog like this. Now I would like that only the beginning (and the picture) of each article to be displayed, with a link to the article in full. I cannot find this option in the control panel, can you please help?
Thank youThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello
You can use the More Tag to configure it at each post.
Also, you can access your admin area > Settings > Reading > “For each article in a feed, show” and choose summary. (I don’t know how your theme will handle this)
Hope that helps

Sorry. The link to your admin area > Settings > Reading was wrong. Here’s the correct one:

Thank you, but my settings as they are should display only the summary. In fact they display the article in full…
Blog pages show at most: 20 posts
For each article in a feed, show : SummarySeems it doesn’t work? Maybe a Template problem? Template is “Twenty Ten”

Hello
I’m sorry imfrakov, but I gave you a wrong information. My mistake. This configuration (“For each article in a feed”) sets the content displayed in a feed — as the setting itself states — and not on your posts page.
If you access jeanfouche.wordpress.com you will see that only part of each post is displayed and after that, a “Lire la suite →” link.
In twenty ten, only categories/tags archives implements automatic excerpts, as I found out in this other forum topic.
Now, you have 2 options to achieve excerpts on posts page (your home):
1. You can use the More Tag to configure it at each post, as I previously suggested
2. You can use excerpts, but you’ll have to configure for each post as well. When you have a Post selected for editing, look at the options for the “Screen Options” tab (upper right corner) – there is a series of “Show on Screen” options, make sure Excerpt is selected.
Sorry for the mistake, and I hope you can meet your happiness with this new info.
Cheers!

sorry again. on the phrase above:
If you access jeanfouche.wordpress.com you will see that only part of each post is displayed and after that, a “Lire la suite →” link.
I meant: http://jeanfouche.wordpress.com/feed and not jeanfouche.wordpress.com

Thank you for your time, so finally I use the “More” tag in each message. Strange because I remember that I saw the option to publish “all or partially” the message on the home page… Or maybe that was on another template, as I tried a few ones before deciding.
Anyway it is ok now, thank you ;) -
