Partial Refund?
-
I purchased the premium plan after having already purchased a personal plan. I wasn’t happy with premium so I asked for a refund the same day, however I was only given a partial refund.
It says this is because it’s holding onto the domain payment, but the purchase of the domain was made when I purchased the personal plan, not the premium plan.
I paid $65 for the premium plan, however I was only given $32 back, and with NO plan at all. Now I have to pay even more just to get my personal plan back, which I already did out of panic because I was afraid I’d lose my site.
Is there anyway I can get a full refund for the premium plan as well as the personal plan? This just seems unfair :(

Hi @thesealetter,
I’ve added the modlook tag to this thread so WordPress.com staff can take a look at it. They will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience as you wait for their reply.

Hey there,
I have canceled your subscription for beartech.live and refunded the charges back to you. It can take between 7-10 business days for the refund to reflect on your bank statement.
I saw that you canceled the domain. Were you still wanting to use it? If you’re wanting to use your domain at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/
For more information on using the domain elsewhere, please see:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/
If you recently registered the domain, you have to wait 60 days before you are able to transfer your domain to a different host, but in the meantime, you can use the domain with your site by pointing the nameservers over to your new host:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-name-servers/
I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.
Let me know if you would like for me to try and regain the domain for you.
Thanks!
Take care,
