Pass information to new page
-
Hello there,
At the moment I have a page where I have the loop to view the posts and go in the post to show the post. In the post i have a simple description, an audio file that can be played and a download button. I can get to view the post simply by clicking its title as done automatically within the loop with help of inbuilt functions. What I wanted to achieve is , when I click the download button from the list of post or the post’s single page itself , I wanted the download button to open a new page in a new tab with a template page. In that template page I want to take user email and other information, and more importantly I want to provide a download link to the audio of the post, from which I came from. How to achieve this and how to pass certain information to the next page.
Thank you -

Hi
the url is https://theatmospheric.io/field/
I have three posts for test. The top post is where I am trying to make it work. At the moment there is no styling for the posts.
thank you -
Thank you for providing the additional information.
It sounds like, you will need a plug-in with “enter email before download” feature. This might be good for you: https://wordpress.org/plugins/download-after-email/
I also noticed that your website is not hosted on WordPress.com and it is built with the self-hosted version of WordPress, often called as WordPress.org. This forum is maintained and equipped to support WordPress.com sites.
To clarify, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different companies so we cannot access files or data for sites hosted elsewhere.
You can find more information here about the differences: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
If you have further questions about your website, the best place to find community support forums for self-hosted sites is: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
I hope that helps!
