  I can’t get into my site (which is under construction). ‘Incorrect password’. I tried changing it; new one does not work either.
  I also ‘password protected’ the site while I’m working on it, so that the public can’t see it until it is launched. That password does not work either. Please help!

  Thank you for your helpful reply, fstat!

  The password issue somehow resolved itself when I opened the web hosting software (Bluehost) and had it open at the same time as WordPress. So I inferred that both of those programs need to be open in order to work on my site. Nevertheless, I would like to know more about the differences so thanks very much for the links.
