Password change process is broken

  • Unknown's avatar

Since you had a breach and my password was exposed I wanted to change my password. The process to do this is unclear — I had to click on numerous Settings options to find the right place to do it (pro hint: the process of changing passwords should be obvious and prominent for naive users). Even when I used your own method to suggest a password, your software never accepted it saying the password was used recently. I tried this over and over — essentially there is no way to change a password using your own tools. Not only is your website confusing and obscure in this regard, but it is irresponsible of you to not make the password process easy to find, not to mention making your security system work (congrats to your security team on bungling your protections against getting hacked)

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Regarding your password changes, I’m showing you changed it successfully a number of times. However, we can send you a password reset email and you can also update it that way. Just let us know!
