Password not protecting page

  I assigned a password to a parent page (it does not have any other pages within it yet), but anyone seems to be able to open it. I expected to be able to since there are cookies on my computer at home and work, but even after deleting all temp files and cookies, I can get right to it and there is no prompt for a password. Once assigning, i clicked save on the right side of the post. Is there anything else?
  BTW, on another WP blog I use, the password worked fine. Why would this happen?

  I wanted to make one page password protected. It was the page with current posts. Is that possible? Or do you have to password protect each post separately? i have been able to make other pages password protected, but not the one with the current posts.
