Password Not Working with Network Computers

I’m using the blogs for a class, so i’ve obviously passworded the posts. However, when the class tries to log in with the password, it doesn’t recognize it? Does it have something to do with the computers (wireless laptops) all being on the same network/ip address or something?
Any suggestions on what’s going on?

I have two laptops on the same network in my room (both connecting wirelessly – I even pulled the network cable on the one so they’d both be wireless).

I created a password protected post on one of my blogs (public but excluded from search engines until it’s ready to launch).

I logged out of my account (I’m assuming for the test that a) it doesn’t matter and b) your students don’t have wp.com accounts).

I entered the password on both computers.

I saw the post on both computers.

This is with FF 2. One computer is running XP Pro SP2 and the other Vista Home Premium.

If you could give exact details on how the students are using wp.com (we are talking about a wp.com blog, right?) then I can try to replicate it better without the assumptions.

it’s an individual class blog. Students all log onto our server with student id and password. i we run windows xp and ie 7 (i pretty sure).

for the wp blog, i set individual posts with a password. students don’t need wp username, just the password i give them.

they all are on the same wireless network no cables and they have the same ip address. sometimes when they post, they get a “you’re responding too quickly” from wp. i assumed it’s due to the fact they’re all coming from the same ip address?

Well. There’s only one of me and two computers, so I guess I can’t really replicate the “responding too fast” issue.

I’d send an support request into staff on Monday when they open.
