Password protect a site on wordpress.com?

  Is there a way to password protect a site on wordpress.com?
  I know it can be done if the site is hosted on my own server space, but in this case the site is a wordpress.com site, in other words, free.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Are you asking if you can set it up so that only certain people can view the site? Or so that only certain people can edit it?

  I found it, in page editor on the right side, Visibility: Password protected
  Solved.

  …and now the word Protected is shown on the site, not great as that will show up on the print, which was the whole idea behind all of this, ah well, maybe I have to find something else.
