How Can I Password Protect All My Posts? I have More than 900 Posts

Why not just set the blog to Private instead? Do that under Settings -> Privacy.

reason why i wouldn’t want to do that is because, as far as i can tell, once you make your posts private, none of the category and archives work, i.e., they’re empty. which makes it rather difficult to navigate thru a site full of private posts, especially if the site is rather huge.

i am interested in this too! is there any way to password protect all post besides locking them one by one?

I did it on one of my blogs exactly the way raincoaster is proposing. I turned my BLOG private (not only the posts but the whole blog). Now I can add posts and have all the features like categories, tags and archive accessible.

    re: helar’s comment:

for a site where there’s a healthy mix of private and public posts, that wouldn’t work well, for archive accessibility issues. but i’m glad you commented. cuz it just occurred to me that regarding my own blog that i’m researching about privacy and archive accessibility for, the entire blog itself is private, and for some reason i had made all the posts private rather than the blog. which is rather silly, and much more complicated, and your solution is extremely obvious and more simple, for this case in particular. so thanks. =)

If you do want to set all those posts to private, you’ll have to do them one by one. It’s something I asked staff about a few months ago. There’s nothing in the xml dump that you can do a search and replace on.

Bulk editing would be a *really* nice feature to add.
