password protect page option being blocked by jetpack

hello, the password protect page option of wordpress is being blocked by jetpack. How can I resolve this and not lose brute force protection of my website. basically what happens is you go the the page that is supposed to be password protected and key in the password when asked. Instead of loading the page showing the content the password gives you access to, the page simply refreshes itself and shows the original page asking you to key in a password to access the content as if nothing ever happened. How do I resolve this?

  • Hi there,

Can you tell me the URL of the site you’re working on? I don’t see any Jetpack-connected sites in the account you’re using to post here.

I tested this on my own site using Jetpack with brute force protection enabled, and I view password-protected posts just fine, whether I’m viewing the site as logged in or logged out. Jetpack’s brute force protection also does not have anything to do with post/page visibility settings. That only monitors logins on the /wp-login.php page for a site.

And if a login gets blocked by Jetpack Protect, you’ll always see a page informing you of this fact. It doesn’t just fail silently as you describe. So I don’t think Jetpack is causing this.

More likely another plugin on your site is causing this, so please ask the WordPress.org community for help troubleshooting this:
