password protect portfolio

I’d like to password protect my whole portfolio section (/portfolio) of my site. I know I can individually password protect each project, but what about the whole section?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey Erika!

Depending where you’ve placed your portfolio, you can use these instructions:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/

Let me know if this works for you. If you have any trouble at all, will you provide me with a link to your portfolio so I might look further into your request?

    Thanks so much!

I understand how to make individual pages password protected, however my question is about the potfolio content type. I would like that entire section to be password protected. Right now when you go to it you can see the list (of 1 right now) of my portfolio pages, but instead I would like the user to be prompted to enter a password to even see that listing. Ideally, the user would not see the names of the projects or any other content I put on that page without a password first.

    Thanks!

    Hi Erika!

I see — unfortunately, there isn’t a way to password protect your portfolio page.

If you want a work around, you can manually create a page and password protect it. Then, you can add individual images that link to your portfolio pages. I know it’s not as convenient as the auto-portfolio, but it is a possibility, with a bit more elbow grease.

If you choose to go in that direction, and need a hand, let me know. Thanks!

Ah ok, that’s unfortunate. If you want to send on some feedback, that feature I’m sure would be helpful to others too.

    Thanks!

    Erika,

I will definitely pass the word along! Thanks for the feedback.

If you have a moment, I also highly recommend you add your idea here:

It’s always powerful to have developers read exactly what our users want…directly from your mouths (or, fingertips, as the case may be).

    Thanks again.
