password protect post for email followers
-
I set my post as password protected. However, one of my followers received the post via email – the complete post, without having to enter a password. Is there a way to protect the post even to those who are following via email?

Password protected posts last for an entire browser session. So, it’s possible that if you used the same password on another post or if the follower had already entered the password in a previous page load and then visited it again, it would still be saved in the browser session and just open normally for them. Is that a possible working scenario for what may have happened to this particular user?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. It is my understanding that the email follower did not even open the browser but that the entire post was sent to him in his email. There was no prompt to enter password. He did not need the password to view the post.

Could you please post a link to the post here or send it to support@wordpress.com and reference a link to this forum thread if you don’t want to reference the post publicly?
