Password Protect Posts Page
-
I have a free WordPress blog, but I really would love to have the option of password protecting my posts’ page without having to use a plug-in or buy an upgrade. At this point, I just have every single individual post password protected, but as the site continues to grow this will become extremely problematic when it comes time to change the passwords.
We want to be able to change the password easily every few months for added security. Is this even possible with a free WordPress site? If not, which upgrade will we need to purchase? Which widgets are the best for password protection? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes anything at all stated here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ FTP access, and plugins are available only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs.
There is no upgrade you can purchase for what you seek.
You can make the entire blog private. See option 3 here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
You can make posts and/ or pages either private or password protected.

Clicking on the link at the end of your original post shows this:http://witsresources.wordpress.com/ is marked private by its owner.
Did you change the setting after timetheif’s post above?
Otherwise, I don’t understand why you’d need to have password protected posts on a private site. -
I always knew I could set it as private but I didn’t really think it was the best option. I know it’s technically my only option given the restrictions, though, so thanks anyways!

Good morning timethief!
I was wondering because this thread is in the Ideas forum.
If there is some underlying reason for having a private blog with password protected posts, then there could be some logic behind it that I’m missing.

I don’t get it either.
