password protected

Hi, when I try to customize the theme of my website privilegeoftime.com I go to appearance and click on customize. Surprisingly I then get this message: ‘This content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below:’ Now I cannot remember that I ever set a password for this. I tried my WP password but that doesn’t work. How can I solve this? Anyone any idea. Thanks in advance for helping this newbie out!

  • Hello there, it seems that your site is not hosted on WordPress.com but a self-hosted site using the open source WordPress software.

    Name Servers
    PDNS13.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
    PDNS14.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

To see which pages are password protected, from your WordPress admin panel, go to Pages screen. If you see the word “Password protected” after any of the page’s title, it is mostly a page protected by a password you set when you created or edited the page.

To disable the password protection, click Quick Edit when you hover over the page title and delete the text in the Password field. If you just want to see the password you’ve set on the page, it should be viewable when you click on Quick Edit option.

For future self-hosted WordPress questions, you’re recommended to post them at the WordPress.org forum and seek help from the experts and volunteer members there. You may need to register an account if you don’t already have one.
