password protected

  i have some posts that stubbornly refuse to be password protected and i dont understand why
  i’ve given it a password – it shows as protected – yet you can see the contents without a password
  example http://dawnhocknell.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1498&action=edit&message=1

  how do i sort this out?

  You will see the post because you are probably still logged into your blog. Sign out, then visit the post in question. It should show as protected.
