Password-protected blog
-
Hi, I would like to password-protect my entire blog, as opposed to individual posts. Am I able to do this on WordPress.com, or do I need to switch to WordPress.org? Also, if I do switch to WordPress.org and password protect the blog, will people still need a WordPress account to comment?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
I see you have already made your blog dennistonsdomadrid.wordpress.com private. Only the viewers whom you invite would be able to view your blog now.
Let us know if you have any more questions.

Yes, it is private currently, I understand that. I would like it to be password protected, not invite-only. Is there a way to do that?

I would like to follow this topic as well. I’ve noticed you can make individual pages password protected (when you’re editting pages on the right side nead publish you can choose under visibility password protected).
However, when a visitor submits the password there’s a text that keeps saying Protected: <pagename>
Is there a way to remove this? Or a way to just make the entire site password protected? -
Hi. There is currently no way to password protect an entire WordPress blog. The best you can do is either set your blog to ‘Private’, or password protect your individual posts.

As @feartheseeds mentioned you can make your individual posts and pages password protected.
To make your full blog password protected, you’ll need to make use of plugins.
Please note that a Business Plan is required on WordPress.com to install plugins.@ rally2020 :
However, when a visitor submits the password there’s a text that keeps saying Protected: <pagename>The text Protected can be removed using custom CSS which is a part of WordPress.com Premium and Business Plans.

Hope this helps and let us know if you have any more questions.
