Password Protected Blog
-
Alright, let me begin with the fact I am very ticked off.
The only reason I set up a WordPress blog was to have a secure password protected blog and come to find out, they have eliminated user uploaded plug-ins. Now they only provide a “few select” and rather stupid “tools”.

I want this, and until I do, I refuse to use wordpress.
hater hate on me, fine. But this is a legitimate request.

The installations you are referring to apply to WordPress.ORG sites, not WordPress.COM, which is what you appear to have. Third-party plug-ins weren’t eliminated here, they were never allowed.
Your .COM site is designated private, but you can invite as many viewers as you want to read your blog.

If you want the ability to install third-party plug-ins, you would need to move to WordPress.ORG.
