Password-protected blog for non-wp users?

  The FAQ says:

  “A non-wordpress.com user will see a screen saying:

  This blog is protected, to view it you must log in.

  If you don’t have a WordPress.com account, you can get one in seconds.”

  Is there a way for people to read a protected blog if they don’t have wordpress?

  No, they need the login because that is how we authenticate for access.
