Password protected post and search engines
-
I want to add a password protected post and it will contain artwork images. Before i do this i need to be certain that search engines cannot get the images from a password protected post. Does anyone know? Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Protected – The post is protected with a password you set. Any user that has the password can view a protected post. The post content will not be indexed and appear in search engine page results. The title of the post will appear in them.

@TT If we post images within that password protected post will those be indexed in image search or not?

I thought this was answered and now @hnsaifi has me worried as it’s the images i am concerned about as i don’t want them indexed. The reply from @Timethief says “the post content will not be indexed” so i assumed that meant the images.

When we choose “password protection” what we are doing is asking the software to provide robots.txt that informs search engine spiders not to index the content in apassword protected post or page. If it didn’t do that there would be no point in having such a thing as “password protection”.

Thanks @Timethief. I was happy with your first reply. The doubts only came after seeing the other reply. Thanks again ;)
