Password-protected post- PW not working

  I’m running 3.2.1 on my own domain, with the WP files in a custom directory. I’d like to password-protect a post, so I entered a simple password under “visibility” when I published it. The post shows up as password protected, but entering the password doesn’t reveal it. Instead, the page just reloads with the enter-password box at the bottom. Is this related to the custom directory, maybe?
