password protected post shows up in topics

  A password protected post shows up as an excerpt in the topics section of the reader. How do I prevent this? Can someone help?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It cannot be accessed without the password and there is not way to “hide” it.

  No, it can’t be accessed on the blog without the password. But if an excerpt is visible to the public in the reader and can’t be hidden there, what’s the use of password protection? Especially with very short posts which will be completely visible to anyone in this case and not just the people it is meant for. Hmm.
  I would be fine with the post showing up in the reader stating that it’s protected, but nothing else being visible. Maybe something to fix in the future.

  Wait, I’ve got a way to work around it: posting the entry as a comment. Not an elegant solution, especially because I love to post pictures. :(

  @jule61, log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then visit the tag page (not logged in) and see if the excerpt shows. It might be it shows for you while logged in, but not for others that are not logged in, or that do not have, or have not entered the password.

  @thesacredpath, I’ve done this manually (I’ve set cache & cookies to automatically clear after the end of each session on Firefox). If you referred to the ‘popular tags’ page bottom left, while I’m logged out I can’t access my post because the tag is not included. Also tried this on my workplace computer, but the excerpt is still displaying (when I’m logged in).

  When you’re logged in as the author, you will see the password protected posts, others will not.
