Password protected post & subscriber notification

I want to make a password-protected post that only one contact will receive the password to, however I don’t want to do that if all subscribers will receive notification that I have a new post, that they then can’t get in to. Can anyone tell me whether or not they will be notified either by email or RSS?

Hi. To publish without notifying subscribers, there is a workaround: switch the entire blog to private, publish, then switch back to public:

But of course, they can’t view the content unless they know the password:
