Password protected posts
-
Hey there! I’m recently changing a lot on my blog so I’ve hired my friend to edit my page for me. Is there a way to hide/lock certain private posts from her that are currently in draft or admin only? But still give her access to edit the colours, theme and organization of the site?
thanks!

Hi Brianna,
But still give her access to edit the colours, theme and organization of the site?
The ability to edit colours and modify or change the theme would require that she be an Administrator. See the User Roles support page, and the Administrator section of that page. Many organizational tasks would also require that role.
I believe that password protected posts, as described in the Post Visibility support page, would be accessible to any administrator, without needing the password. However, I’m not certain of that so I’ll call for staff attention. Staff will respond here, and might be able to suggest other alternatives if any exist that I’m unaware of.

Hi there,
Admins and editors can access all posts on a site, regardless whether they’re draft or published privately, publicly or password-protected.
Only site admins can customize the theme, and site admins have full access to everything on the site, including the ability to add and remove users, and to delete the site. The only thing an admin cannot do is to remove you as the owner of the site.
There are no alternatives I can offer here – this is how the default user roles in the WordPress software works. There might be a custom user role created by a plugin that only has access to theme-level stuff but not content, but personally I’ve never heard of one.
