Password protected posts
-
I am trying to use a new wordpress “blog” as the virtual worktable for our board of directors. Figured out pretty easily how to password protect sensitive posts. And found the support topics about password protected posts, so I feel fairly confident I am doing this right.
A couple of questions:
1) Has anyone ever had any problems with these posts getting hacked and distributed across the Internet?
2) Will comments to the password-protected posts likewise be protected by that password? I.E., if an initial discussion is password-protected, I don’t want the comments to be public.
Note: I looked at the “private” option, and decided against it. At our next board meeting, we will discuss what can be public. We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we’d like for as much as possible of our administrative work to be public, with maximum transparency. Just throwing that out there so you understand why I opted against “Private”.
Thanks!

Hey there,
1) Password protected posts are as secure as the password you use to protect them. If anyone who knows the password shares the password (or the content of the post), then there’s nothing you can do to prevent the information’s proliferation. Security will not be an issue if the parties who know the password do not disclose it.
2) All assets related to the post, including comments, will be password-protected as well.
Please let me know if I can be of any further help.
Best,
