Password-protected posts visible to everyone

    What has happened? Suddenly everyone can read my password-protected posts in their RSS-reader. What do I do about it?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I just subscribed to your blog with NetNewsWire and I cannot see any of the posts that need a password.

    Where are you seeing the problem please?

    This is strange. Yesterday I got an e-mail from one of my readers that does not have the password and she told me that she could read the protected posts. And today when I log in to Bloglovin the post I can do the same thing. So something is wrong :-(

    You are absolutely right. It does not show in the page but shows in the tag feed

    That IS a serious problem. There are issues with RSS feeds at the moment, and staff has been working on at least some of them for over a week.

    It is still amusing, but hopefully none of your subscribers know who “he” is.

    Did you publish any of the posts *before* adding a password (adding the password on a subsequent update), or did all of the posts have the password applied before being published for the first time?

    No, I always apply the password at once.
    Yes, this is a serious problem to me as the reason that I chose WordPress is the possibility to passwordprotect.

    That’s a bad problem. Our apologies you ran into it, but our many thanks for telling us about it so that no one else will have the same problem.

    It should be fixed now.

    Your feed could be cached by other sites (like Bloglovin) still. If you publish a new post, it should make the problem go away on those other sites.

    What is the URL of the specific post that did this, and how did it go out? Email subs? RSS feed?
