password protected…but a follower?

  My blog is password protected, Ive had a few password protected blogs here and never had a follower before but suddenly a notification came into my email that I have one now. what would anyone get out of being a follower of a blog they can’t see and be interested in this: “They will receive an email every time you publish a post.” if they can’t see it…which I presume they can’t. I don’t want to change to private but I’m just puzzled about what this person can access or whatever.

  There are just as many odd people online as there are offline. Why bother with this password protected posts falalala. Why not make the whole blog private and then the password protection will not be needed? To change blog visibility to Private go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  I thought of that and did temporarily change it ..
  but I dont want the participants to all have the bother of having to register and log in which I undetstand is the case? Guess ill just leave it …thanks for response
