password protecting a page within a post (“NextPage”)

    Hi,

I’m just wondering if it’s possible to password-protect a page in a post, as in “pagination” or “NextPage” (http://support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/nextpage/).
If someone has figured out how to do this, could they show how it’s done?

If it isn’t possible, that’s fine. It’s just a point of curiosity.

    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I believe that’s not possible. With pagination, all you’re doing is splitting the content but the post settings are for the whole post.

Why not just make a regular post with a link to a password-protected post, which you backdate so it looks like you posted it a year ago? Then nobody will stumble on the password-protected post, but the other post, which will appear in the proper order on the blog, will act as a draw for it. Just make a regular link to the protected post, and you can even call it “read more” if you want.
