Password Protection is not working on Page
-
Hi, I am trying to password protect a page on my blog titled “scheduled and past guest speakers.” (The web address is http://ebmbguestspeakers.wordpress.com.)
I have selected “password protected” as the visibility type and entered a password but when other people access the site, they are still able to access that page without entering a password. WordPress indicates that it is password protected but it is not. I’ve even tried using different themes…
How can I get the password protection to work? The posts made to that page need to be password protected.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

“”scheduled and past guest speakers” is the “blog” page (posts page) you have set at settings > reading. The “blog” (posts) page that shows all posts cannot be password protected because it isn’t a normal “page.”
What you would have to do is to password protect each individual post that you do not want the public at large to see.

Is there any way to password protect the entire site? I want to be able to give out one password to current and new users to they can access the entire site. Is there a work around?
Thanks for the quick response!

No. You can set the site to private and then invite people to be viewers, but they will have to sign up for a wordpress.com account (don’t have to get a blog, just a username and password.

Thanks! That worked. If you use the same password for every post, it opens up all posts on the page at the same time. Thank you, thank you!
