Password protection not working?

  Hey guys, sorry for the noob-ish question, but hope you can help me out.

  I just want to make my posts password protected, so only friends and family can read them. I’m testing out with the first post WordPress already provides you with when you register. I enter a password under the ‘Password Protect This Post’ tab, save it, then I log out and visit the page, but I can still see the entire post. The only thing different is that beside the post title is the word “Protected”.

  Not exactly protected if anyone can still read it…

  Could you help me out here? Thanks.
