password protection of a post

I have changed the visibility profile of my post from “public” to “password protected” and entered the passwword I want my readers to enter to access the post. I updated the post. The password is not working as the post doesn’t appear after the password is entered. What to do? I’m receiving a number of communications that the password doesn’t work. I tried to access the website and the password is not working.
