Password protectTimeline
-
Using a WordPress compatible Timeline plugin on my live website. Not ready for the Timeline to go live, but would like for some folks to give me input. How & where do I set a password that makes the Timeline accessible only to those who have the password?

Hey finggp,
Please share the link to your website. You sound to have a self-hosted WordPress website.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different platforms. To know more, please read this.

Hey back,
My site is on the WordPress.com platform, utilizing a U-Design Child Theme. It has a registered .org Domain name. I have a web designer who manages and hosts the site. He ordinarily handles technical issues, but he is traveling. This is my first time dealing with a Timeline and I want to learn about it. He set it up; I’m just creating the first group of posts for it.
Appreciate your feedback.

Hi there, If your designer hosts your site, then your site is not hosted here on WordPressdotcom. If you’d like us to double check for you, please share your site URL so we can point you in the right direction for assistance.

My site is VeteransAir.org Yes, it is hosted by my designer.
I did not understand that it must be hosted by WP in order to ask questions here. So, Yes, I would appreciate knowing where to go for future assistance when I’m out digging for tech info…which I always then take to my designer. THAT assures no foul ups. :)
FYI – Everest Timeline Vertical Template #15 is installed & still being tweaked. AccessPress Theme Support covers that.
Appreciate the help,

Hello again, WordPress and WordPressdotcom are separate entities. The support guide that @ravichahar linked to earlier explains some of the differences.
If you want to receive help for your site which is using the WordPress software, then best to ask at https://wordpress.org/support where they have more experience with the kinds of issues you may be having. For that particular plugin it looks like you’ll want to contact the plugin author for help if you have the paid version. I see there is a forum for their Lite version here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/everest-timeline-lite/
Hope that helps answer your question.
