Password reset

I have a blog page with bluehost.com that I have no problem accessing my wordpress account to update blog, but with my blog site I have with hostgator.com, I am unable to access my account and when I request a reset, I get message that an email has been sent to me at my email address, but I get nothing and cannot get to my site, nor my other web pages with hostgator.com that I have recently put wordpress on to start them up. Help!

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com and there are no self-hosted sites connected to the account you’re using to post here, so we cannot help with this. We have no control over your admin login for those sites – that password is stored directly in your site database on your hosting provider’s servers.

I am constantly having problems with my login…I am hosting locally for testing so unable to contact support any other way.
The login works only every so often it takes at least 10 trys using the same password until it works….sometimes but if i go to an extension affiliated with the webpage it works the first time.
What is happening here?

That’s very likely caused by something specific to your local environment. These forums are for the sites we host here on WordPress.com and not self-hosted or local sites.
