Password reset – username not recognized

    Hi,

    I am trying to reactivate a wordpress account for my organization. I believe I havethe username but I don’t remember the password. When I go to the password reset site and enter in the username, it says it is invalid. When I go to create a new account, it says that same username is in use. I haven’t seen any email generated.

    I’m also afraid the email account used to set it up is no longer accessible as this was done a while ago and the person who did it may have used their email account which has been deactivated. But I’m hoping they used the generic email for the organization instead.

    Any thoughts? I’m mostly interested in knowing why the username is not being accepted in the password reset form.
