Password Securing only the Page I Blog on – Bueno Theme
-
Hi, I want my blog to have only one page password secured – the page I blog on. I already set a password for my page, but it just doesn’t ask for a password if I open it. If I change the “blogging” page to another one, the page is secured. But if I change the page I want secured back as the blogging page, it istn’t password secured anymore. It’s really annoying, because I only want this page secured. I use the Bueno Theme, but this also happened in other Themes. Thanks for your help. Eva
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You need to understand the difference between a page and a post. You cannot password-protect a blog on WP.com.

A solution for you would be to have two sites on your account, one totally private, so only people you let in will see, and a public one to put the reste of you content.
If you want to do that, go on https://wordpress.com/sites/ and select on the left side ‘Create another WordPress’. On the third field you’ll see ‘I want my blog to be..’ and select ‘Private’.
Hope this helps !

I know the difference. I want only the page with my posts secured, but I do have other pages on my blog which can be Public. Isn’t it possible to just let the diary be private?
Thank you

The problem is that the page containing the articles isn’t a page anymore, that’s why you can’t lock it.
You could lock or make private each article you write, so the only thing unauthorized people will see is the title.
