Password Shenanigans

    So I:

    1. Am logged into my blog.
    2. I am trying to comment on another blog which behaves inconsistently.
    2a. Comment doesn’t submit but clears the form.
    2b. Then comment works and appears.
    2c. Then editing comment fails and clears the form. And comment disappears.
    2d. Then write new comment successfully and appears on page but disappears on refresh.
    2e. I am prompted for a password (despite being signed in in another tab).

    3. I use my email and password and it doesn’t work.
    4. I attempt to clear cache and try again with similar results.
    5. My username is said to not exist when trying to reset.
    6. I try an invalid email and then try the original username again and it does send a reset password.
    7. I try to log in with the generated password but do not have success.
    8. I am currently signed in when submitting this request.

    So are my usernames different entities here? is that the issue. This is very bizarre.

    Anyway to get actual support?

    So it appears that the password reset failure is due to me not hitting the button to actually reset password.

    Still unexplained are the weird comment issues and the fact that my password that I’m fairly certain was right didn’t work. I now get a 502 error when trying to comment so maybe that explains things.

    What is the exact URL starting with http:// of the site you are referring to please?

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, run different theme versions of themes with the same names, and many people get confused about the two.
