Password Troubles
-
I wanted to inform whoever may read this (and hopefully someone among the staff that can do something about it) of a minor bug. I created an account today to begin a blog here. As often as possible, I create exceptionally strong passwords including symbols, as was the case with my account here. The password included a > symbol. After validating my email I went to log in to find myself unable to. I tried several times, thinking I must just be missing a key. I checked my password manager and it was correct. The password should work. At my wits end, I reset it and it told me to check my email. That’s when I noticed I had 2 emails. The most recent being to reset my password, the other containing my login information. That’s when I realized the problem. Rather than the > I had provided, the email told my my password contained “<“. I am a web designer and have some experience with php and mysql and think that may be where the problem lies. When entering a password, it says to use symbols such as !@#etc, etc for a strong password, and included >….. I hope I provided enough information to be helpful and that a solution can be reached.
Thanks
