I tried 6 times after receiving new passwords… The system did not accept one. So I have no access to my new site http://www.umsetzung.com.
Please help me. I have studied support in forums & and instructions… no success.
    My user-name is: ‘schircks’,
my email: (email visible only to moderators and staff) or also (email visible only to moderators and staff).
The first password was: [redacted by staff].
After 5 or 6 tentatives I dont know if this original password is still correct.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please never post your login credentials on the forums, as you never know who may see them. I have added the modlook tag so a staff member or moderator can remove them for you.

It looks like you are working with a self-hosted WordPress.org site instead of the WordPress.com-hosted version supported here.

Learn more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

With that being said, there are some alternative ways to reset your password listed in the codex. I would see what works best for you, but I typically do this through phpMyAdmin:
    https://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password

If that still doesn’t work or if you have questions about manually changing your password, I would recommend searching on the WordPress.org support forums for similar issues. If you cannot find anything that works, you can start your own thread. The forums are completely separate from each other, so you will need to register an account there if you haven’t done so already.

  • Hi there,

Please immediately update your account password. Never provide your password to ANYONE, not even a site’s support staff, and least of all in a public forum like this.

The domain, umsetzung.com, is not registered with WordPress.com, but with enom.com. That domain has never been connected to any site on WordPress.com, and the username, schircks, does not exist anywhere in our system. That tells me you had a self-hosted site at that domain.

Self-hosted sites are not on our servers and we don’t control them. You’ll need to provide your hosting provider for help regaining access to your site.

Thank you all for your support. I have fixed the problem through HostGator very efficiently – of course it took some time – their chat-system is perfect !!! & changed the password.
